ADOPTION PROCESS
A FOREVER HOME IS OUR GOAL
We know our dogs, and we will take the time to get to know you and your adoption goals for a successful match. Please keep in mind we place dogs based on a BEST FIT model, rather than first-come-first-served.
APPLY - Please fill out our online application so we can learn more about you. The more detailed you answer each question, the better we can help you to find the right dog.
MATCH REVIEWED -Our experienced adoption counselors will review your application and ask any follow-up questions. *Please note we only adopt within 200 miles of San Francisco.
MEET AND GREET - All family members meet the dog including a supervised intro with any current pets. A virtual home check may be completed to help ensure the match.
ADOPTION CONTRACT AND PAYMENT - If the match is approved by 2 adoption coordinators then final paperwork will be completed, and we will collect the adoption fee of $450. This adoption fee covers each dogs spay or neuter, vaccines and microchip.
SENIORS FOR SENIORS PROGRAM: The adoption process for seniors is very much like our standard adoption process. However, if you are 65+ years of age and adopt one of senior dogs 7+ years old, we discount our adoption fee to $300. If you qualify for this program and would like to opt-in, please let your adoption coordinator know!
